Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a common syndrome in emergency resuscitation departments, with severe progression and high mortality. Initially, artificial ventilation in ARDS used high Vt, however, the lung protective ventilation strategy (low Vt) was born and proved to reduce mortality compared to traditional artificial ventilation. Since then, the artificial ventilation strategy using low Vt according to the ARDS network has been the preferred choice in the treatment of ARDS patients. At the same time, MSc. Dr. Trinh The Anh – Intensive Care Center, Bach Mai Hospital also shared “Some basic breathing modes” to help patients breathe naturally, allowing patients to control VT, F, TI, VE, helping patients feel comfortable, reducing the need for sedation.
