On the afternoon of April 5, 2023, Hop Luc General Hospital organized a scientific activity program with the topic “Update new advances in diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias” chaired by Dr. Phan Dinh Phong – General Secretary of the Vietnam Heart Rhythm Association, Vietnam Cardiovascular Association, Lecturer at Hanoi Medical University. The program was accompanied by the group providing healthcare technology solutions Medtronic.

Attending the meeting were: Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Thanh Van – Director of the Hospital, Associate Professor, Doctor Le Van Bang – Deputy Director of the Hospital, Doctor Nguyen Xuan Mau – Permanent Deputy Director of the Hospital, Master, Doctor Nguyen Van Hai – Deputy Director of the Hospital, together with leaders of departments/offices/divisions, staff of the Department of Cardiology of Hop Luc General Hospital and representatives of Medtronic Group.

The scientific meeting included 02 main contents: Update on new advances in diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmia; update on indications for implantation of defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization pacemakers.
Dr. Phan Dinh Phong presented methods for diagnosing arrhythmia such as medical history taking, event video analysis, ambulatory electrocardiogram recording method, artificial intelligence (screening)… In addition, Dr. Phan Dinh Phong shared implantable heart rate monitoring devices, contributing effectively to the detection of arrhythmia. At the same time, he emphasized the role of ICD – one of the most effective measures to prevent sudden death due to arrhythmia and CRT (-D) – cardiac resynchronization pacemaker.
After Dr. Phan Dinh Phong’s report, the delegates had a lively discussion on the contents presented in the scientific meeting, thereby finding timely and effective treatment methods for people with arrhythmia.

The scientific activity program is a regular activity held at Hop Luc General Hospital, aiming to consolidate and update medical knowledge, and improve the professional qualifications of the hospital’s medical staff. Currently, the Cardiology Department and the Interventional Cardiology Unit of Hop Luc General Hospital have applied the most advanced methods in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, thereby saving the lives of many critically ill patients.
